A blissful bowl of extra-thick homemade noodles dipped in rich broth blending chicken paitan and seafood

  • Rich seafood tsukemen is the signature
  • Extra-thick homemade noodles
  • Low-temperature cooked chashu
  • Limited-time tsukemen also offered
  • Great for solo lunch
  • A hidden gem in a back alley
  • Only 11 counter seats
  • 3-minute walk from Shin-Koiwa Station

Just about a 3-minute walk from the North Exit of Shin-Koiwa Station, Menya Itto stands quietly in a narrow alley, attracting many tsukemen enthusiasts from afar. The signature Tokusei Rich Seafood Tsukemen features a creamy dipping broth blending chicken paitan with seafood and crustaceans, which clings perfectly to the extra-thick homemade noodles; diners appreciate that while deeply flavorful, it is never overly heavy and can be savored to the very last drop. The pork shoulder, chicken breast, and duck chashu prepared via vacuum low-temperature cooking are tender and juicy, complemented by chicken meatballs with the texture of shiso and cartilage, as well as soft-boiled flavored eggs seasoned to the yolk. To finish, soup-wari infused with the aroma of bonito flakes and dried sardines is available to savor the lingering aftertaste. Limited-time offerings such as lobster bisque tsukemen also add to its appeal, giving patrons reasons to return throughout the seasons. The shop features only 11 L-shaped counter seats, is entirely non-smoking, welcomes solo diners comfortably, and is well-regarded for its polite queue guidance.
