  • Bright, completely non-smoking dining area

Menya Nanasai is known for its uncompromising craftsmanship, where noodles are kneaded from flour, cut, and shaped by hand for every single order, making the experience of watching the noodle-making process over the counter an attraction in itself. The Kitakata-style flat-curly noodles boast a wonderfully chewy texture and firmness, clinging seamlessly to a gentle broth rich in dried sardine umami without any bitterness, satisfying diners all the way through even in a large portion. The refined soy sauce soup, brewed from chicken, mackerel flakes, bonito flakes, and kelp, is also popular, with many suggesting newcomers start with the soy sauce flavor first. In summer, limited-time specialties such as cold noodles made with Dadacha soybeans make an appearance, eagerly awaited by repeat customers every year. The bright, clean 18-seat interior finished in light wood is entirely non-smoking, creating a welcoming atmosphere for solo lunches.
