Situated in the basement just a short walk from Hongo-sanchome Station, Chinese Soba Restaurant Nishino is a ramen specialty shop with only 11 counter seats where each bowl is meticulously prepared. The signature chuka soba pairs a clear golden broth—richly layered with flavors of dried sardine, shellfish, chicken, and kelp—with thin, straight noodles, earning praise for an elegant, impurity-free taste that makes diners want to drink every drop of the soup. The signature pork and shrimp wontons are served on a separate dish, offering an enjoyable contrast between the generously packed pork filling and the plump shrimp, which can be eaten freely by adding a dash of vinegar or dipping them directly into the broth. Seasonal variations are also offered, such as sansho soba with an aromatic hit of Japanese pepper, as well as summer konbu-sui tsukemen and chilled bowls with sudachi citrus; many guests also add a bowl of mayo-chashu rice. The bright, wood-accented interior features playful touches like BGM and decorations related to the Sakamichi idol group that inspired the shop's name, making it an easy and welcoming stop for a solo lunch.
