Located on the 2nd floor of Haneda Airport Terminal 1, cuud is a curry udon specialty restaurant centered on thin udon noodles coated in spiced Japanese dashi (Japanese soup stock) curry. In addition to the classic bowl offering both deep dashi flavor and authentic spiciness, the tomato curry udon layered with refreshing acidity and rich tomato umami is also popular, with many guests choosing the half-and-half to taste both at once. The restaurant's signature dining style is enjoyed in stages: first savor it as it is, next add rice for a risotto-like dish, and finally dilute the remaining broth with dashi to drink like a soup. Thoughtful touches are also well regarded, such as sweet and sour pickles served as a palate cleanser, and warm rooibos tea poured in place of cold water, refilled promptly whenever it runs low. The black-toned interior offers only 20 counter seats surrounding an island kitchen, with luggage storage space provided and entirely non-smoking. Thanks to quick service, solo diners can easily stop by before their flight.
