Just a short walk from Kaminarimon, Namiki Yabusoba was founded in 1913 and stands as a standalone soba restaurant that has preserved its storied noren for over 100 years alongside Kanda and Ikenohata as part of the Yabu Gosanke. The signature offering is zarusoba, served in traditional Edo style by lightly dipping only the tips of smooth, fine-cut buckwheat noodles into a rich, savory broth defined by a sharp kaeshi sauce. Tenzaru accompanied by shrimp and shishito pepper tempura, as well as autumn and winter kamo nanban, are also well regarded. Enjoying sake paired with itawasa or wasabi-topped grated yam before finishing with soba is an ideal solo dining ritual. After your noodles, pouring the clear, light sobayu into the rich dipping broth leaves a clean and refreshing finish. Inside, the warm wood-grained space features raised tatami seating, where the poised hospitality of the servers ensures a comfortable visit between sightseeing stops.
