Located a short walk from Ebisu Station, Ebisu Yakiniku kintan, with its striking glass-walled exterior, is said to be the origin of the kintan brand that has continued since 2013. Its signature item is beef tongue hung and aged for 30 days; comparing the tongue root and tongue tip parts grilled side by side, even thin slices are praised for being crisp and richly flavorful. The sirloin yukhoe, which can be enjoyed with two types of sauce—salt and miso—for a change of flavor, is also a signature dish, with its gorgeous, photogenic presentation livening up the table. The luxurious flow continues to the end, from the foie gras and truffle stone-grilled bibimbap that appears at the close of the course, to melt-in-your-mouth wagyu nigiri. Salad, soup, and rice are all-you-can-refill, and the attentive service, with staff checking in at just the right moments, is also well regarded. The calm first and second floor spaces, accented with chandeliers and woodgrain, feature all-nonsmoking table seats and sofa seats, plus two private rooms available by phone reservation, making it a reliable choice for everything from anniversary celebrations with a meat cake presentation to family meals and business entertaining.
