Cafe Paulista is a long-established Ginza cafe founded in 1911, sometimes described as Japan's oldest cafe, and known as the origin of the term "Ginbura," meaning to drink Brazilian coffee in Ginza. Its signature dish is Mori no Coffee, made with pesticide-free Brazilian beans, praised for its balance of acidity and sweetness without off-flavors. The Paulista Old, served since the cafe's founding, offers a firm bitterness and rich body, chosen by those who prefer a strong taste. Also popular are the rich Sachertorte with a sweet-tart raspberry jam accent, the Mont Blanc with coffee cream hidden inside, and tarts and mousses made with seasonal fruits. The high-ceilinged interior, lined with leather sofas and chandeliers, offers a calm atmosphere where you can forget the bustle despite being in the heart of Ginza, and it retains the history of a salon frequented by literary figures such as Ryunosuke Akutagawa, as well as a seat associated with John Lennon and his wife. Open from 9:00 in the morning, it's suitable for breakfast, chatting with friends, or a solo break.
