Founded in 1760 and celebrated as the birthplace of oyakodon, Tobori Ryori Tamahide is a long-established shamo chicken restaurant located just steps from Ningyocho Station. The signature original oyakodon focuses strictly on chicken and egg, bringing together resilient shamo meat, sweet-savory broth-rich warishita sauce, and soft, runny egg, with homemade shichimi on the table to sharpen the flavors even further. The menu also offers a wide range of ways to savor shamo, including a starter soup brewed from shamo bones with chicken meatballs, bowls combined with white liver, and bowls featuring multiple chicken cuts. At lunch, an ordering system before entering makes it easy to stop by during a stroll or dining alone, while dinners featuring shamo hot pots are well-suited for group meals and gatherings. Retaining traditional noren curtains and the warmth of wood, the calm non-smoking table seating can accommodate private hire for 20 to 50 guests.
