Founded in 1976, Inakaan Kokura Honten is an eel specialty restaurant renowned for its unique "konashi" grilling technique, often described as "feeding the eel plenty of fire." Slowly grilled over high heat, the eel boasts an aromatic, crispy skin and a tender, melt-in-your-mouth texture, with its sweet and savory sauce-glazed unaju earning widespread acclaim. The menu also offers Yanagawa-style seiro-mushi where the sauce soaks all the way into the rice, bittersweet and savory liver skewers that pair nicely with sake, fluffy umaki, and refreshing uzaku. From May to November, wild eel is also available as a seasonal treat.
