Shin-ochanomizu Manryu is a local Chinese restaurant situated on the first floor of a building in Kanda-Surugadai, just a short walk from Ochanomizu Station. Its signature dish is the Nikutama Fried Rice, an appetizing one-plate meal lavishly piled high with fried rice, sweet-savory braised pork belly, fluffy egg, and large shumai dumplings. Beyond the shumai, which are celebrated as far more than just a side, the thick, juicy gyoza and the chashu egg—thick-cut roasted pork paired with a fried egg—are also wildly popular.
