Torashokudo, Matsudo Branch is an authorized branch carrying on the lineage of training at the historic flagship in Shirakawa, Fukushima. The signature Chashu Wonton Noodles (with seasoned soft-boiled egg) is a classic bowl that most diners choose first, topped with three types of chashu—pork belly, shoulder loin, and thigh—along with thin-skinned wontons and a soft-boiled seasoned egg. The high-hydration homemade noodles, irregularly curled by green bamboo kneading and hand-crimping, feature a pleasantly chewy springiness and smooth slide down the throat, latching onto the rich broth well. Adding the house ginger-soy sauce condiment shifts the finish to a lighter, refreshing note. The system requires writing your name on the sign-in board at the entrance, making queues inevitable on weekends and holidays; however, its location right next to Matsuhidai Station and a large free parking lot make visiting by car straightforward. The 28-seat interior offers counter seats, table seats, and tatami seating (zashiki: low tables on tatami mats, shoes are removed), praised for its relaxed atmosphere reminiscent of a countryside diner where guests with children can feel comfortable.
