Just a short walk from the east exit of Ikebukuro Station, Le Coq Roti sits quietly on the 2nd floor of a building. This bistro cafe's signature dish, which also gave the restaurant its name, is its rotisserie chicken. Using chicken such as Michinoku Seiryu chicken marinated in herbs for two days, then roasted whole on a dedicated rotisserie machine, the dish is known for its fragrant, crispy skin and moist, juicy meat. The galettes, made with dough of 100% domestic buckwheat flour, come with a wide variety of ingredient combinations, and the truffle-scented fried potatoes pair well with the more than 10 kinds of craft beer available. Brick walls and subdued lighting create a calm, hideaway-like atmosphere, and all 58 seats, including counter and sofa seating, are non-smoking. The lunch menu, which includes everything from appetizers to main dishes, is popular for its good value, and the restaurant also offers all-you-can-drink course options and can accommodate private hire for 20 to 50 people, making it easy to use for girls' nights out or meals with coworkers.
