Situated on the 2nd floor of Canal Terrace Horie along the Dotonbori River, Horie Blue stands out with its cruise ship-inspired interior featuring a 13-meter boat-shaped bar counter, around 300 candles, and glowing blue neon. Large windows look out over the river and passing cruise boats, and the venue offers river-facing couple seats as well as private rooms accommodating from 2 to over 30 guests. The signature dish is handmade xiaolongbao: with soft, chewy wrappers when freshly steamed, they burst with savory meat broth, offering tasting comparisons between classic Shanghai xiaolongbao, truffle, and seafood varieties typical of a specialty venue. The silky Chinese congee brewed with dried scallops and goji berries comes with free refills, while large shrimp prepared in mayonnaise or chili sauces are also widely favored. The set lunches including salad and soup offer great value in the ¥2,000 range, and special dessert plates with sparklers can be arranged for birthdays and anniversaries. The entire venue is non-smoking, serving everything from dates to large banquets.
