Menya Taku's signature feature is its two-tier double soup, layering Japanese dashi made from bonito flakes and kelp over a rich animal-based broth of pork bone and chicken. The two main attractions are the "Wafu Tori-Ton," rich yet clean on the palate, and the chicken-pork tsukemen, where thick, chewy noodles cling to a dipping soup condensed with the umami of chicken paitan and pork bone. The menu also offers niboshi soba blending refreshing qualities with depth, as well as soup-less Japanese-style mazesoba. A key strength is making all noodles in-house daily, crafting everything from thick to medium-thin noodles. Guests also appreciate affordable sides like tender thick-cut chashu, takana rice, and ginger rice that pair well with ramen. The interior features only 12 L-shaped counter seats in a handcrafted space overlooking the noodle-making area, with a wide variety of condiment items on the counter such as garlic and black shichimi. Fully non-smoking and welcoming for solo diners, lines can form during lunchtime.
