Shiopan-ya Pan Maison Sumida Asakusadori is a takeout-only bakery about a 1-minute walk from Honjo-azumabashi Station, located along the street and filled with the aroma of baking butter and wheat. Its signature shio pan is crisp and fragrant on the outside and chewy inside, with butter oozing out with each bite while the rock salt brings out the dough's sweetness. The lineup is varied, including shio melon pan made with crispy biscuit dough and a hint of salt, fragrant truffle shio pan, Japanese-style mentaiko shio pan made with mild mentaiko, and shio pan sandwiches filled with scrambled egg or ham and cheese. It's nice that even if you choose several kinds, the total stays under ¥1,000. The shop is popular enough that lines form before opening, though turnover is said to be quick, and some customers buy so much that purchase limits are set per item. It's a great spot to stop by for a souvenir or light snack while exploring Asakusa or the Tokyo Skytree area
