Menya Shiki is famous for its signature Shoyu Shiki-men, featuring a clear double soup of chicken and seafood with your choice of thin or curly noodles. Crafted without chemical seasonings using Japanese cooking techniques by the owner-chef, who spent 23 years as a traditional Japanese chef, this bowl combines a sharp soy sauce tare with refined dashi umami, topped with two kinds of chashu. Other popular options include the Shio Shina Soba with its beautiful golden soup blending several kinds of Sanriku salt, and rich tsukemen combining chicken paitan with seafood. The slow-cooked tender chicken chashu and rich, soft-boiled egg are standout additions worth ordering. Many regulars return for seasonal specials such as summer curry ramen and winter Miso Sanmai. The compact, all-non-smoking shop with 4 counter seats and 3 tables is kept impeccably clean, welcoming guests for solo dining or after-work meals. Ordering is done via ticket machine, and payment is cash only.
