A few minutes' walk from Akasaka Station on the first floor of a building along Showa-dori, Hakata Gomasabaya is a teishoku-style seafood diner placing mackerel at the center of the menu. The signature toro saba don teishoku offers a unique three-stage progression guided by signs in the restaurant: first enjoy the sweet fat of thick-cut raw sashimi, then eat it over rice with sauce as a bowl, and finish by pouring hot dashi over the top for chazuke.
