HAKATA MOTSUNABE TOKUNAGAYA is housed in a detached traditional townhouse in a corner of Reisenmachi, within walking distance of Gion Station, offering a charming space where guests remove their shoes upon entry. The signature dish is motsunabe, combining a rich white miso soup with a garlic punch and fresh raw Japanese Black beef offal, highlighting its springy bounce and fatty sweetness. Ingredients other than garlic chives are served pre-cooked so guests can begin eating immediately. Soup bases can be selected from 4 varieties: miso, soy sauce, ponzu, and spicy, finished with champon noodles or zosui rice porridge that absorbs the soup. Renowned Hakata-style dishes such as the signature Toku teba and Ama teba wings, horse sashimi assortment directly delivered from Kumamoto, and sesame mackerel (goma saba) are also well regarded, with many praising the reasonable prices even when ordering multiple dishes.
