Located just up Tominokoji from Nishiki Market, Spring Valley Brewery Kyoto is a brewpub housed in a renovated townhouse built approximately 100 years ago. Brewing tanks are installed right inside the dining area, giving guests a memorable view of fresh craft beer being made. The tasting flight set—offering small portions of around 6 different beers—is particularly popular, allowing guests to compare everything from core lineup brews to Kyoto-exclusive selections. The menu features Japanese craft dishes crafted to complement the beer, such as homemade sausage made with Kyotanba Kogen pork, potato salad with cured mackerel (kizushi), and extra-large conger eel fish and chips. Staff are happy to explain flavor profiles and pairing suggestions in detail. The relaxed space, blending traditional Japanese and modern elements, is great for a daytime drink, a quick pause between sightseeing stops, a date, or a gathering with friends.
