Offering a bowl filled with clear dashi of chicken, scallop, and seafood in a stand-and-eat style, Shio Ramen Asuryu is a shio ramen specialty shop opened in 2007 on the 2nd floor of a building along Keyaki-dori, just a few minutes' walk from Takatsuki Station. The setup built around a large central standing table is rare in Osaka, and the line is known to move quickly even when queues form. The signature shio ramen is light yet deeply rich, with the aroma of shiso giving it a refreshing finish, while smooth, thin noodles cling nicely to the soup. The Tokushio Ramen, loaded with all toppings including tender melt-in-the-mouth chashu and wontons generously stuffed with meat filling, is also very popular. By using the yuzu pepper and salted dried scallops on the counter to adjust the flavor, a single bowl reveals two or three different dimensions. The shop is completely non-smoking and also has 2 tables for 4 guests, making it welcoming whether visiting solo or with friends.
