HOPPERS, situated on the 1st floor of KABUTO ONE in Nihombashi Kabutocho right next to Kayabacho Station, is a modern establishment specializing in Sri Lankan cuisine. The lunch signature is a single-plate Sri Lankan set meal (teishoku), centered with a whole dried sardine and surrounded by 9 daily side dishes such as eggplant, beets, and pol sambol. The customary way to eat is to taste each dish individually first, then gradually mix them together on the plate, keeping every bite interesting until the very end. The offerings vary by day, from mild shrimp curry infused with coconut to pork curry scented with whole spices, and rice refills are free. The hot water infused with ginger and cardamom served before the meal also leaves a lasting impression. The simple, stylish interior with 21 seats is entirely non-smoking, and in the evening, guests can enjoy a special time with a course meal accompanied by wine pairings selected by a sommelier.
