Just a short walk from the South Exit of Koenji Station, negombo33 Koenji is a spice curry shop known as a sister location to the popular restaurant in Nishi-Tokorozawa, Saitama. The signature lamb keema curry features coarsely ground lamb stewed with wine and tomatoes, layered with the aromas of Sichuan pepper and ginger, bringing the bold, wild character of lamb straight to the fore. The tangy and spicy pork vindaloo stars tender, melt-in-your-mouth braised pork belly; alternating between the two curries allows you to savor the contrasting flavors. A rich, European-style beef curry and a daily special dal (bean curry) are also great for resetting your palate alongside the spicier dishes. Inside, there are only 4 two-person tables, creating a calm atmosphere reminiscent of a small cafe with wooden tables and mix-and-match chairs. In-house roasted coffee ground after ordering and rich cacao gateau chocolat are also available, making it a great spot to linger after your meal. The friendly staff is well regarded, making it a welcoming stop for solo spice curry exploration.
