Founded in 1947, Konparu Osu Main Store is a historic retro coffee shop that has long led Nagoya's unique cafe culture. Its signature dish, the fried shrimp sandwich, features generous toasted bread packing 3 plump, large fried shrimp, filled with the rich savory flavors of special tartar sauce and cutlet sauce that fill your mouth. The iced coffee, served by pouring hot coffee from a demitasse cup over a glass filled with ice yourself, is another specialty renowned for the heightened aroma and crisp bitterness brought out by rapid cooling. Furnished with red and purple sofas, the interior retains a nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere, making it ideal for the morning service starting at 08:00 or a break during a stroll. A wide variety of authentic sandwiches are also available for takeout, popular as snacks during sightseeing or as souvenirs.
