Located along the railway tracks just a short walk from Shimokitazawa Station, Kaimen Mikawa is a ramen shop serving bowls that bring out the full flavor of shellfish. The signature Kaimen features smooth flat straight noodles coated in a shellfish paitan broth simmered over high heat with asari clams and generous amounts of scallops, filling the mouth with concentrated ocean aroma and deep richness. The refined chuka soba combining shellfish dashi with mellow beef bone paitan is also popular, as are the 3 kinds of chashu: tender chicken breast and aromatically seared pork belly.
