Tucked away in an alley just beyond the bustle of Udagawacho in Shibuya, Unosato is an adult hideaway set within a renovated traditional house offering a tranquil ambiance. Soft indirect lighting illuminates the interior, which features counter seats as well as horigotatsu (sunken table seating) where you can stretch your legs and unwind. The cuisine highlights inventive creative Japanese dishes that skillfully incorporate Western ingredients, ranging from beautifully prepared sashimi platters of seasonal fish to eel and blue cheese spring rolls. Meticulously prepared à la carte dishes, such as aromatic salt-grilled local chicken and namafu dengaku (fresh wheat gluten with sweet miso glaze), pair wonderfully with the carefully curated selection of fine sake from around the country. Course meals are served individually per guest, allowing everyone to focus on conversation without the hassle of sharing portions. From drinking gatherings with friends to calm dates and business dinners, guests can indulge in an enjoyable, mature experience paired with exquisite sake.
