Founded in 1895, Asakusa Imahan Kokusai-dori Honten is a historic restaurant with more than a century of history, preserving the tradition of Edo-style sukiyaki. The signature sukiyaki is a luxurious dish featuring beautifully marbled Kuroge Wagyu beef quickly simmered in a rich, sweet and savory warishita broth. The kimono-clad attendants cook the first slice right before your eyes to perfection and serve it into a bowl of beaten egg, allowing you to savor the rich, full-bodied flavor of the meat. The vegetables and wheat gluten that soak up the savory broth are also exceptional, alongside traditional ryotei-style appetizers and the beloved original beef tsukudani. At lunchtime, the famous Centennial Gyudon is popular, while the tranquil tatami seating (zashiki) and private rooms gracefully host special celebratory gatherings.
