A 2-minute walk from the north exit of Kannai Station, Bunmeido Chakan Le Cafe is a classical tearoom tucked behind an established confectionery shop. The specialty pastel—dorayaki pancake skins baked fresh on a copper griddle upon ordering—has earned acclaim for its crispy exterior and chewy interior. Guests can enjoy freshly baked warmth paired with a variety of toppings, including butter, special syrup, whipped cream, and coarse red bean paste. The moist, finely textured handmade castella with coarse zarame sugar lining the bottom, as well as iced coffee served with coffee ice cubes that never dilute the flavor as they melt, are also very popular. Looking out at the blue-themed stained glass depicting sailing ships in Yokohama Port across the wall, visitors can enjoy a relaxing teatime between strolls through the city.
