Savor tsukemen with fragrant seared beef offal blending into rich seafood and pork broth at a modern Japanese hideaway

  • Fragrant beef offal tsukemen
  • Free noodle upsize service
  • Aromatic dashi soup-wari
  • Modern Japanese basement hideaway
  • Easy to drop by alone
  • Ideal for a late-night final bowl

Kitanosaka Oku has earned a strong reputation for its "motsu tsukemen," which brings together fragrant seared beef offal and a rich seafood and pork broth. Located in a building's basement, the interior offers a calm, modern Japanese hideaway reminiscent of a traditional kappo or a bar. The piping-hot dipping broth is served in an iron bowl with excellent heat retention, clinging nicely to smooth, slurpable noodles. Guests can also enjoy free extra noodles for the same price, providing plenty of satisfaction for lunch or a hearty meal. After changing up the flavor with sansho pepper or ichimi chili powder on the table, finish every last drop with soup-wari thinned with sardine and kombu dashi (Japanese soup stock). Offering comfortable counter seats and table seats, it is an inviting spot for everything from dining solo to a post-drink bowl of noodles.
