Founded in 1912 in Nezu, Bunkyo Ward, the sweets parlor Imojin is a beloved downtown gem where many pause during their strolls through Yanesen. Its specialty ice cream monaka is filled with ice cream only after you order, letting you enjoy the remarkably light, crisp texture and toasted aroma of the wafer. Also popular are the Avec Ice, which pairs ogura red bean and simple vanilla ice cream in retro silverware, and traditional anmitsu featuring smooth homemade bean paste, crisp agar cubes, and subtly salted red peas in perfect harmony. With just 18 seats, the cozy shop is entirely non-smoking and well-kept, offering a comfortable space to catch your breath mid-walk.
