Loved for many years near Imaike Station, Hyakurotei Imaike is a long-standing gyoza specialty restaurant boasting a history of over 60 years. The signature pan-fried gyoza are steam-fried using almost no oil, combining the chewy elasticity of thin skins with a light, refreshing filling that makes it easy to enjoy plate after plate. Paired with a smooth beer, the gentle savoriness of the gyoza stands out even more. Other must-try dishes include bari soba, featuring crispy fried noodles topped with a generous starchy sauce, and egg soup gyoza, where fluffy beaten eggs spread through dashi (Japanese soup stock). The interior is a cozy, retro space with only red counter seats, comfortably accommodating those who want a quick bite and drink alone or after work. Since the restaurant closes as soon as the gyoza sell out, visiting early in the evening is recommended.
