Founded in 1976, Kamimidokoro Hikoichi is a long-established sweets shop beloved for its atmospheric Japanese house setting converted from a former ryotei restaurant. Tucked quietly into an alleyway, the interior overlooks a small pond with swimming carp and a well-tended inner courtyard, creating a calm ambiance where time seems to slow down. A highlight of the famous anmitsu is the ability to choose your favorite bean paste from tsubuan, koshian, or zunda paste, paired with either white or dark brown syrup. The menu features carefully handcrafted sweets, including zunda mochi rich with edamame aroma and a hint of salt, as well as a special parfait with pudding hidden at the bottom. Meal options such as ramen sets that include sweets are also available, and with warm tea attentively refilled, guests can enjoy a truly comforting time.
