SAN TORA's signature dish is a rich miso ramen coated with a surface layer of lard that keeps it hot until you finish the bowl, winning over many fans with its depth, sweetness, and punchy garlic flavor reminiscent of Sapporo ramen. Dissolving the grated ginger served atop the chashu pork into the soup transforms the initial richness into a refreshing and vibrant kick, a style of eating cherished by regulars here. Thick, juicy chashu pork, a soft-boiled seasoned egg, and crunchy menma bamboo shoots are also popular, with some guests ordering a small rice to finish by soaking up the remaining broth. The owner trained for 17 years at Sapporo's renowned Sumire, playing a role in opening multiple locations before establishing this shop here in 2019. With 7 counter seats and 8 table seats, the entirely non-smoking interior and polite service make it an inviting spot for solo diners at lunch and families alike.
