Rishiri Ramen Ajiraku Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum Branch offers the flavors of the renowned shop from Hokkaido's Rishiri Island right in Shin-Yokohama. The signature Yaki Shoyu Ramen features a double soup blending dashi (Japanese soup stock) from 3-year-aged Rishiri kombu with chicken and pork bones, combined with a soy sauce tare roasted in a wok; it is celebrated for the refined umami of kombu and the smoky aroma of scorched soy sauce. The medium-thick curly noodles are chewy and lift the broth well, while the tender, succulent pork belly chashu also enjoys strong praise. Some say dissolving extra tororo kombu into the soup expands the umami even further. Located on the basement floor replicating a retro Showa cityscape, the shop offers mini sizes, making it convenient for hopping between various ramen stalls in the museum. With 25 seats total comprising 9 counter seats and table seats, the shop is entirely non-smoking and equipped with booster chairs and tableware for children, making it welcoming for families.
