A 3-minute walk from Shinjuku Station, GARDEN HOUSE SHINJUKU is on the 4th floor of NEWoMan SHINJUKU, continuing the tradition of its original restaurant in Kamakura by serving dishes and desserts that make use of seasonal ingredients. Its signature item is a lightly sweetened hojicha cheesecake, which is said to release more aroma when the accompanying hojicha milk is poured over it. The buttermilk pancakes change in appearance depending on the seasonal fruit used. The food menu is also substantial, featuring chewy pizza, the pasta of the day, and a steak plate with all-you-can-eat bread refills. The interior has high ceilings and plenty of greenery, and on sunny days the 40-seat terrace is especially pleasant. The entire venue is non-smoking and barrier-free, with sofa seating also available, making it a reliable choice for girls' nights, gatherings of mothers, or a cafe stop while shopping. The attentive, considerate service is also well regarded.
