The signature of TAKEUCHI is its whimsical plate featuring multiple small bowls of curry and side dishes garnished with edible flowers and shaped vegetables. With components changing daily, it has earned a reputation for combining picturesque colors with well-rounded flavors, offering something new on every visit. Diners have an endless variety to choose from, including a mild seafood curry blending shrimp, scallops, and squid with heavy cream and butter; a dry (spicy) waterless curry made with Awaji Island onions and Iwate beef; and a stewed hamburger steak curry meal served in an iron pot. Because each portion is plated with care and attention to detail, there is a bit of a wait before serving, but the humble hospitality of the owner and staff creates a pleasant atmosphere that makes even the wait feel peaceful. With just 8 counter seats, Southern All Stars music playing, and railway memorabilia on display, it is the ideal spot for a day when you want to focus quietly on your curry.
