Located on the 4th floor of a building just a short walk from the southeast exit of Shinjuku Station, "Ichioku-en de Izakaya Tatetemita. Okuman Chodoja Shinjuku Honden" is an entertainment izakaya where gold and traditional kumiko lattice fill your view the moment you open the door, letting you feel like a billionaire. Staff address guests as "billionaire" throughout the visit, and surprises continue after being seated, such as macarons served as otoshi emerging from a treasure box with smoke, and a Basque cheesecake wrapped in flames at the table. Popular dishes include a plate piled high with A5 wagyu prosciutto and wagyu yukhoe topped with egg yolk, along with playful items like a potato salad served in a corn-shaped dish. Guided through a corridor lined with wind chimes, the private rooms feature kumiko woodwork and accommodate anywhere from 2 to over 30 people, with private hire also available, making the venue suitable for anything from farewell and welcome parties to anniversary dates. Courses with all-you-can-drink options and an affordable budget of around ¥4,000 are also well received.
