Just a short walk from Nakameguro Station, Menya Mikan opened its doors in spring 2024, founded by two chefs who honed their craft at a renowned shop in Sugamo. Its signature chuka soba (shoyu) features a double soup pairing meat dashi with the aromas of niboshi, mackerel flakes, and soda bonito flakes, praised for pairing excellently with their homemade thin straight noodles. The specialty charcoal-hung roast chashu offers a fragrant crust and juicy, thick-cut center, drawing many patrons specifically for this meat. The menu offers varied experiences depending on the time of day, featuring a crisp shio soba and weekday-evening-only abura soba with customizable noodle portions. Inside, the space consists entirely of a 14-seat U-shaped counter with ample spacing between chairs, maintaining a clean aesthetic and a completely non-smoking environment for comfort. Guests appreciate the fast turnaround from handing over meal tickets to receiving their bowls, making it an ideal choice for a solo lunch or a casual bowl after work.
