Toritsune Shizen-do is a traditional downtown chicken dining spot where you can savor oyakodon cooked with impeccable heat precision and craftsmanship. The signature deluxe oyakodon combines Hinai jidori and Nagoya Cochin chicken with rich eggs, cooked to such a delightfully soft, half-cooked consistency that it is said to be drinkable. Prepared by the owner one bowl at a time in an oyakonabe pan, each masterpiece brings a blissful harmony between the springy texture of the flavorful local chicken and the gentle dashi. In addition, the offal oyakodon loaded generously with fresh chicken liver is highly regarded for its deep, rich savory notes. The 1st floor features counter seats overlooking the cooking at close range, while the 2nd floor offers relaxing tatami seating (zashiki), suiting a wide range of occasions from solo lunches to evening dining.
