Deeply rooted in Sugamo, Fight Gyoza is a gyoza specialty shop that carries on the techniques of White Gyoza from Chiba. Its gyoza, made with thick wrappers and pan-fried in plenty of oil until crisp and golden on the outside, burst with juicy filling upon biting, making them a unique specialty that pairs wonderfully with cold draft beer. The gyoza set meal, which comes with rice, miso soup, and well-seasoned Japanese pickles, is known for its generous portions, and many regulars pair it with classic soy sauce fried rice. Featuring counter seats, table seats, and tatami seating (zashiki) for banquets, the restaurant is completely non-smoking and constantly lively with cheerful service and chatter from local patrons. No reservations are accepted, and payment is cash-only. Since extra orders of gyoza cannot be placed during busy times, ordering everything together at the start is advised. Raw gyoza are also available for takeout.
