The signature dish at Hakata Motsunabe Arizuki Ebisu is the "white motsunabe," a hot pot blending several kinds of white miso with a strong punch of garlic. The bowl, where plump beef motsu tangles with the rich soup, has long been supported by motsunabe lovers, and part of the appeal is being able to choose from 5 to 6 soups, including a light soy-based red and a kombu dashi-based gold. Side dishes are also plentiful, such as vinegared motsu eaten with yuzu kosho, and Hakata menchi fried with mentaiko and cheese wrapped inside, and you can finish with Nagasaki champon that has soaked up all the flavor. The signboard-free, house-like exterior is a hideaway in itself, and the fully non-smoking interior, equipped with counter seats and tatami seating, suits both drinking parties with friends and relaxed meals. The restaurant is also known for its quick service and attentive staff, and it's pleasing that a meal with drinks can be had from around ¥3,000. During the day, a limited menu of Hakata teppan yakiniku is offered.
