Known as a pioneer that popularized the style of serving noodles bathed in kombu water, Wuchoku opened its tsukemen specialty shop on the B1 floor of Coppice Kichijoji in April 2025. The signature shoyu tsukemen is traditionally eaten in distinct steps: first taste the noodles coated in bonito and kombu dashi with just salt to appreciate the sweetness and aroma of the wheat, then dip them into the rich soy sauce broth, and finally finish with a choice of citrus or chicken broth dashi diluter according to the dining guide on the counter. The special tsukemen featuring layers of thick and thinly sliced chashu, as well as the savory-sweet diced pork rice, are highly regarded for their generous satisfaction. The 12 semi-circular counter seats crafted with wood and plaster exude the calm elegance of a traditional kappo counter, and an efficient system of collecting tickets in advance ensures quick service once seated. Fully non-smoking, it welcomes solo diners and pairs of women alike in a comfortable atmosphere.
