Located in the basement of a hotel near the Zenkoji Exit of Nagano Station, Bocchi is a popular spot to casually enjoy authentic hand-made Togakushi soba. Arranged beautifully on a bamboo sieve in the Togakushi tradition of Bocchi-mori, the nihachi soba boasts a firm chew, refreshing smoothness, and a rich aroma that spreads with every bite. The limited-quantity juwari soba made with 100% Togakushi buckwheat flour is also renowned, allowing guests to compare and appreciate its fresh flavors. The menu is replete with à la carte dishes featuring Shinshu delicacies, such as freshly fried, generous tempura, and horse meat sashimi with tender lean and melting marbled cuts. Enjoying pre-noodle soba-mae drinks like Mizuo and other Shinshu local sake alongside buckwheat shochu, guests can relax over their meal in a welcoming, completely non-smoking space lined with tatami seating (zashiki).
